Damp Spectre

This is a digital image of a shroud painting. I work with layers of paper, painting through the paper and also absorbing paint on other layers. This is a digital example of the type of work that I do. The shroud is important for several reasons: 1. Medieval uses of the shroud in religious iconography were the invention of priests and clergy who used them to absorb believers. 2. The shroud disguises something. 3. Removing the shroud can reveal something more beautiful.
